The nervous system is one of the most important systems in the body and it's why an infant should be evaluated by a pediatric chiropractor after birth! The birthing process can cause restrictions and body tension within the baby that can affect the way they develop!
What can pediatric chiropractic help with?
torticollis and head position preference
gassiness and constipation
latching/feeding issues
plagiocephaly
tongue/lip/buccal tie support
ear infections, congestion, sinus issues
difficulty sleeping
bed wetting
limited movements/mobility
growing pains
Is it safe?
Yes, chiropractic care is safe when provided by a licensed and experienced chiropractor! Chiropractors who specialize in pediatric care use gentle techniques and have training to ensure safety! When checking an infant, we use pressure similar to what you would use to check the ripeness of a tomato!
Both Dr. Tyler and Dr. Brittany have taken over 200+ hours in pediatric and prenatal courses to be certified by the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association)!
Why does it work?
When we adjust a child, we are directly impacting the central nervous system! The vagus nerve in particular influences many systems in the body! The vagus nerve is located at the base of the skull so it is why we see such huge improvements in bodily functions after adjusting the upper cervical region!
What is the activator?
It is a tool we can use to adjust kids! It delivers an impulse at the speed of 1/1000 of a second! This allows us to adjust using high speed and very low force! Kids are also very mobile and prefer to play during adjustments and this allows us to do that on the move!
At what age can my child see a chiropractor?
Chiropractic care is safe at any age, even newborns! As a child grows, the techniques used will differ based on the child's age and stage of development!
How often will my child need care?
The frequency of chiropractic care for children depends on the specific condition being addressed and the individual needs of the child. Some children may need more frequent visits initially, while others may only need occasional visits.
